Manop's Biography

Manop Chinratana was born on February 6th 1950 in Suphanburi, Thailand about 50 miles west of Bangkok. He is the fifth of the four brothers and two sisters. He lived in the province until 17 years of age. He then moved to Bangkok to continue his education. He completed high school at Amnuaysilpa School in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. He graduated the Bachelor of sciences Degree in the major of Agriculture from Kasetsart University. He then completed his graduate degree (master) in Mathematics from MTSU University in Tennessee in 1982.

He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1983 to look for a professional job in his field. His first job was the programmer with Honeywell Corp. He was then hired by the Contel Corp from 1985 to 1990. He has also worked for IBM Corp. He has been working the past 10 years at TSYS Inc. in Atlanta.

He was married with Suda Opapongpunt for 26 years. She has two Master degrees in MBA and Mathematics. They have two children Nida and Paul which graduated from the University of Georgia in Communication and Business. They are working in the insurance and banking field. The Chinratana family is happily living in Woodstock GA.

Manop loves the volunteer and social service opportunites that the Thai Association presents in Georgia. And is now proudly serving as the President of the Thai Association of Georgia for 2010. GA.
